Secret Savings of Drug Testing:

How Cannabis Breath Testing Can Boost Your ROI

Summary:

Prior to the era of legal cannabis, zero-tolerance drug testing programs were the norm. Under these traditional policies, applicants and employees who rendered positive results were typically excused from employment. As such, the return on investment (ROI) of traditional testing was driven by positive results that removed drug users and their elevated risks of absenteeism, accidents, turnover, theft, etc., from the workforce.

Cannabis legalization, increasing use, and a tight labor market all play a role in redefining the ROI of cannabis testing. As the costs to recruit, retain, hire, and train employees continue to increase, savvy employers recognize that a recent use breath test for cannabis is the solution to balancing workplace safety, employee retention, and testing policies that accommodate use outside of the workday. In short, a positive drug test no longer drives much of the ROI of cannabis testing – instead, it’s the negative test for cannabis that drives most of the savings.

In this webinar recording, we’ll discuss the value of breath testing and how leveraging this new testing method can improve cost savings and drive a positive return on investment. SHRM credits are available and will be given at the end of the recording.
